Academic Tutoring Program

Our Tutoring Program works to get the youngest Achievers to the appropriate reading level.  If children are not on target with reading levels by the third grade, then they will demonstrate persistently poor academic achievement from grades 4 through 12.  At the time when we accept the children into our program as kindergartners, most of them are already in the bottom quartile for literacy scores. To ensure that each child develops essential skills, the Academic Tutoring Program works diligently with each child Achiever.

Our Academic Tutoring Program is based on a one-to-one volunteer tutor to Achiever ratio.  It is made up of pre-screened volunteer tutors who are overseen by a full-time Tutor Coordinator who monitors Achiever progress as part of our comprehensive approach to our Achievers’ academic, social, and emotional well-being.
