During the 12 years the Achievers spend with us, we transition them through two different programs: the Child program and the Adolescent Program.
Child Program: One-on-One Relationship
The Child Program is the building block of our early intervention strategy.
Entrusted with the responsibility to provide each child with intensive care, we train the Friends before matching them by gender to 8 Achievers when they are in kindergarten. The Friend spends a minimum of 4 hours per week with each child while also having direct access to the child’s classroom in order to determine academic deficiencies and behavior issues.
Our intensive programming includes social outings that expose Achievers to all of the enriching opportunities that New York City has to offer. These outings are often geared to the child’s interests (arts, sports, outdoor activities, etc.), helping to build self-confidence and positive social skills.
